The Chamber of Commerce of North Macedonia has developed the first decarbonization guide for small businesses in the country with support from the European Union. The digital tool provides step-by-step guidance for the most effective ways for a number of local companies to reduce their carbon footprint as part of the global fight against climate change.
The chamber produced the guide in collaboration with the advisory team of the European Investment Bank and the EU delegation in Macedonia. The guide is designed to help companies reduce greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to international climate regulations, such as the EU tax on imported goods with high carbon rates – the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), and at the same time remain competitive. That will help North Macedonia as a whole to move towards a low-carbon economy. Posted on the website of the Chamber of Commerce, the guide is in the form of an interactive platform and was created with funding from the EIB Global.
