This web site was developed because we felt the need to establish communication platform which will be the initial point for sharing climate change and climate action information in our country, on national but also on local level. Every piece of information shared presents climate change from a Macedonian perspective and shows our efforts to facilitate adaptation.

Climate change is related and is reflected in all sectors (energy production, transport, livestock and agriculture). Since climate change is multi-sectoral issue, it requires multi-sectoral approach and close cooperation with many stakeholders, which on the other hand requires continuous communication between all of them.

The web site was developed with technical and financial support from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Global Environmental Facility (GEF), while the Public Relations Department at The Ministry of environment and Physical Planning is responsible for maintaining the web site and for sharing climate change related information.

The Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning (MOEPP) s the institution responsible for climate change policies, national focal point for the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and is designated national body for the implementation of the Kyoto Protocol.

Other ministries which have competencies in relation to climate change are:

• The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Economy
• The Ministry of Economy
• The Ministry of Transport and Communication
• The Ministry of Health and
• The Ministry of Finance

The Office of the Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs is responsible for the activities related to the Sustainable Development Goals and is also the designated national entity for the Green Climate Fund.

The technical group as part of the Sustainable Development Council also participates in this Process as well as other stakeholders from the government and the civil society.
