Media is bursting with climate change news: “The world is not on track to meet the 1,5-degree goal…We need to accelerate our climate actions to avoid the scenarios scientists predict for us…The timeframe for climate action is scarce”.
The Government, the scientists, the businesses, NGOs, citizens…they are all part of the same team and are under pressure to score that one winning goal, the most important goal of our time – to limit the greenhouse gas emissions enough to prevent the dangerous effects of climate change. The magnitude of this challenge requires new match strategy and urgent ideas and solutions. The good news is that they are out there and just need to be connected and scaled.
That’s were gender comes into the sight. Gender diversity brings in fresh ideas and perspectives. Not only by ensuring equal gender team composition, but by shifting the focus…Because it’s not always about the numbers, it’s about the people you choose to play. To score a goal, the team needs champions.
