Let's Talk Аbout Climate Change project aims to mobilize citizens, communities across the country by educating them about is climate change, what are its consequences, how each of us contributes to climate change, what each of us can do to mitigate their impact and how to convey this information to our communities in order to make them change.
In a fast-paced, rapidly changing world, the effects of climate change are becoming increasingly apparent and impossible to ignore. Climate change affects our daily lives, affects our health, affects our food and endangers the safety of our homes. When the future of our communities becomes uncertain we look to our political leaders to take action.
However, politics is almost always moving too slowly, and climate change is happening right now. A rapid ambitious action is needed to mitigate their consequences. In such a situation it is necessary to actively involve citizens and communities who will be watching closely what is happening and will ask their political leaders to change policies to mitigate climate change, reduce their impact on communities and ensure a secure future.
Let's Talk About Climate Change project aims to mobilize citizens, communities across the country by educating them about is climate change, what are its consequences, how each of us contributes to climate change, what each of us can do to mitigate their impact and how to convey this information to our communities in order to make them change. CSOs are our voice in front of the political leaders, and this is why this project seeks to strengthen and unite civil society organizations in the country to increase their participation in creating ambitious climate change mitigation policies.
As a developing country that does not have sufficient financial resources to deal with the effects of climate change, we believe that there is a need for mutual listening and active cooperation among the citizens, the civil society, the private sector, the institutions and the political leaders in order to take an ambitious climate change mitigation action in our country.
The ultimate goal of the Let’s Talk About Climate Change project is to create a national climate coalition whose members will be strong and well-informed CSOs capable of delivering messages from their communities to political leaders.
The "Let's Talk About Climate Change" project is implemented by Eco-svest, CNVP and DEM and you can read about all our current activities and about climate change on the social networks (#Da ZboruvameZaKlima) or you can write to us at elena@ekosvest.com.mk.
